STARFLEET-L Fail
Yeah. George Carlin’s death is off topic. Whatever.
I had SFI-L flashbacks. You remember SFI-L, don’t you? The failed list that was so heavily moderated that even discussing Charleton Heston’s death was deemed off topic.
I almost miss SFI-L. But I have now unsubscribed from STARFLEET-L, brining the total number of STARFLEET related listserves I am subscribed to zero.
I’m prety much staying out of IRC for a while, too. Really can’t seem to get motivated. You know, if I don’t hear anything about STARFLEET, I won’t have anything to post here.
Fail?

Oh, I’m sure you’ll hear this and that.

No. Likely not. As I really am pretty disgusted over it all. And with real life beating me about the head and shoulders every day, I have better things to do than babysit the Sal Pals.
I think when I shut down this site, Mary, I’ll mis you the most…

Dave,
Come on. Like anyone would REALLY miss MaryK?
Regardless. SFI-L will be coming back according the call that Sal made to me the other day. He actually picked up the phone to call me to apologize for our ship launch not being on sfi.org. I was… amazed to be honest. And it was nice he took the time after the email I sent the same morning.
Regardless Dave, keep up with most of us. You are my kind of people.

Wait… fat, homeless, unemployed bald men are your kind of people? Jesus, man, you need a life.
SFI-L can come back all it wants. It’s still a bad idea that is being run badly. Of course the same thing could be said about this website.
I am not sure if I will be keeping FAIL open. I want to see if we get any posts regarding the IC this weekend.

I had flashbacks of getting my weewee smacked by a past starfleet-l mod for posting the obit of one Fred Rogers, he of the Neighborhood.
Go figure…

Looking back, it really was off topic. I guess I can’t blame Chrissy for shutting it down. Besides, it could have devolved into a discussion of the “seven words” or some such, and that would have been a logistical nightmare.

Carlin was a rather influential part of my life. I can see the logic of not wanting a thread to devolve into the 7 dirty words recap… especially in an age of political correctness in a fan club supposedly devoted to IDIC.
IDIC… Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations… as long as those combinations conform to the agenda of those in power.
So really it should be…
IDIC: Infinite Diversity in Instant Conformity.
Oh, and keep the site up, Dave. Folks still need to read the truth about STARFLEET.

Keep this site up Dave… Keep it Anti-Clause
