On February 18, I asked Jack Eaton, my Regional Coordinator to request from the Commander, STARFLEET an Inspector General investigation. This stemmed from a private email that was sent to Mike Urvand, Chief od STARFLEET Operations. Six hours after I sent it to Mike, the contents of the email “leaked” all over “Vic’s Lounge,” the anonymous pussy blog that cropped up after the election. In a very nasty fashion, they pointed me as the whistleblower and circled the wagons.

In the two weeks that followed, things about my personal business were revealed and lampooned on “Vic’s”. I tried like hell to fight them off, but in the end, I folded and ran like a screaming little girl. I resigned as CO of my chapter. That chapter died a month later.

Sal Lizard took two months to answer Jack Eaton. Two. Months.

Here’s what he had to say on the issue.

In reference to your request that I charge an IG investigation based on what I have read below, I must decline at this time. No where in the reading of our governing documents did I find “the right to privacy” listed. As a matter of fact, I don’t know that there is even an expectation of confidentiality in STARFLEET. Private and/or confidential emails and discussions are always leaked in this organization. I have written memos to the AB only to be told that “nothing is ‘confidential’ on the AB or ECAB lists.

Certainly Dave Lowe has been posting private emails from the SFI-L moderators on his website at http://starfleetfail.com

He cannot have it both ways.

Wow. I mean…. wow…

I started this site after all this broke. I posted these personal emails from the moderators in sort of self defense. I wanted these gross violations of membership rights documented and made public.

I asked the Inspector General in an email how to ask for an investigation into the violation of membership rights by the Commander, STARFLEET. This is what Robert Westfall had to say:

Only the CS can authorize an investigation by the IG’s Office (Section 03:02 of the IG’s Handbook).

Even if the CS is the target of the complaint? Jesus, isn’t that convenient! Robert replied:

I won’t disagree with you there. It used to be that an RC [member of the AB] could initiate an investigation, though FADM Mike Smith [I beleive] had that removed.

If the CS is the “target” of your complaint, I suggest going to either the VCS or OPS, as they would the next in line.

That information has been passed along to my Regional Coordinator. We’ll see what happens. For what it’s worth, the “Vic’s Lounge” blog is now a “private blog.” It’s closed to those not invited. Good riddance, Vic.
